The thing is, it's completely normal. Nearly everyone overestimates their own value in the dating market while holding others to standards they haven't met themselves.

But here's the good news: awareness is the first step toward growth. That's why we built the Protagonist Bias Calculator — a free, honest reality-check tool that helps you see where the gaps are, and more importantly, where your biggest opportunities for personal growth live. No judgment. Just clarity, and a roadmap to becoming the partner you're looking for.

Client well-being and “do no harm”
We prioritize the client’s well-being, dignity, autonomy, and safety. We aim to serve the client’s stated goals while staying alert to risks that can arise in deep personal work. We avoid coercive, shaming, exploitative, or destabilizing conduct.

Clear agreements at the start, and clarity as we go
Before coaching begins, we ensure the client understands the nature of coaching, what it can and cannot provide, confidentiality and its limits, financial terms, scheduling/cancellation expectations, and how communication will work. If the scope, structure, or terms change, we address it directly and update agreements as needed.

Scope of practice and referrals
We provide coaching, not psychotherapy, psychiatry, medical care, or crisis intervention. We do not diagnose, treat, or claim to cure any mental or physical illness. When a client’s needs fall outside coaching—such as acute crisis, risk of self-harm or harm to others, psychosis/mania, severe substance withdrawal, or other situations requiring clinical care—we pause or end coaching as appropriate and recommend qualified licensed professionals or emergency services.

Informed consent and client autonomy
We explain our methods in a way the client can understand, including the client’s right to pause, decline any exercise, choose the pace, or end coaching at any time. We honor the client’s freedom to make their own choices and recognize the client is responsible for decisions and outcomes.

Integrity and responsible representation
We communicate honestly about our qualifications, experience, and the nature of our services. We do not promise guaranteed results or represent coaching as clinical treatment. We distinguish spiritual perspectives, personal opinions, and lived-experience frameworks from medical or clinical claims.

Confidentiality, privacy, and records
We treat client communications and information as confidential, with limited exceptions required by law and/or safety. We explain these limits clearly. We store, maintain, and dispose of client records in a manner intended to protect confidentiality, privacy, and security. We collect only the information we need to provide effective coaching.

Boundaries and dual relationships
We maintain clear, appropriate, and culturally sensitive boundaries. We avoid dual relationships that create confusion, dependence, or impaired judgment. Where overlap is unavoidable (for example, small communities), we address it explicitly and prioritize client welfare. We do not engage in any sexual or romantic relationships with clients, students, or mentors.

Conflicts of interest and transparency
We remain alert to conflicts of interest and the appearance of conflicts. If a situation could reasonably be perceived to influence our objectivity, our judgment, or the client’s freedom of choice, we disclose it and resolve it through clear agreements or by removing ourselves if needed. We do not exploit the coaching relationship for personal, financial, sexual, or social advantage.

Respect, inclusion, and non-discrimination
We treat all clients with respect and do not unlawfully discriminate. We aim to be culturally aware and trauma-informed in communication. We do not impose our worldview; spiritual frameworks are used with consent and in a way that centers the client’s goals and lived experience.

Spiritual practices and medical claims
When using spiritual, intuitive, or energetic frameworks, we do so responsibly. We avoid medical claims, do not advise clients to stop prescribed treatment, and encourage clients to consult licensed professionals for medical or mental health concerns. We do not use “spiritual certainty” to override client agency, reality-testing, or safety.

We practice within our competence and pursue ongoing development, consultation, and self-reflection.

Professional accountability
We welcome feedback and address concerns promptly and respectfully. If we become aware of an ethical breach within our practice, we take it seriously, correct course, and improve our systems. We commit to continuous ethical refinement.

What is Inner Cosmology Parts Work and Who is it for?

ICPW is designed for high-performance professionals, leaders, & creative entrepreneurs to rapidly experience profound spiritual growth and balance. Clients typically have already achieved a degree of success in their field, but despite their great results, are blocked in important areas of their life.

Consider the following examples:

The Mitsubishi Fanatic

Marco was a charismatic influencer who found his niche photographing and reviewing modded Japanese performance cars and parts. He had a following of hundreds of thousands of fans who loved his humorous style. His finances were better than ever, however, his excessive weight was causing him health, energy, and self-esteem issues. After many failed attempts at weight-loss programs and personal trainers, Marco knew his issue ran deeper and he needed a different approach, so he tried Jembae Holistic Spiritual Life Coaching.

In his sessions, he gained clarity on his fear of being seen, and was able to accept and nurture the fearful parts of himself that were trying to hide behind the extra weight. As a result, Marco was able to slowly let go of his comfort-eating behaviors, and practice more consistence with his exercise. The greatest part is, for Marco now, exercise and healthy eating no longer feel like torture—he enjoys it. He has already lost a considerable amount of weight and continues his fitness journey. Thanks to his internal work, Marco also gained the confidence to start leading a small team for his business, rather than trying to do it all himself.

The Shark Mom

Jamila was a successful real estate sales team leader, with tens of millions in yearly sales volume, and the reputation of being a “shark” when it came to business. However, she felt overwhelmed with the amount of parental work she needed to balance and felt disconnected from her intimate partner. She had tried some healing modalities and experienced benefits, but not the breakthrough she was hoping for. A friend shared her positive experience with Jembae Holistic Spiritual Life Coaching. Jamila was attracted by the focus on high-performance professionals, so she decided to give it a try.

Over months of sessions, she gained clarity on how, despite excelling in the workplace, she was not asserting her needs adequately in her personal life because of childhood fears. By accepting and nurturing her inner child fears, she was able to process this dynamic at a core level. She renegotiated responsibilities with her partner, hired a part-time babysitter, and is now able to spend more quality time with her family. She arrives at work refreshed and excited. Thanks to the internal work she has done, she finds that she is able to communicate more effectively with her team, remain calmer, and lead more confidently.

What both Jamila and Marco had in common was relative success and stability in their field, but one or more areas in their life they were still "blocked" in.

ICPW requires a degree of relative comfort and stability in one’s life, however, clients don’t need to be high-performance professionals to benefit. Anyone with relative stability and a strong desire for internal growth can experience life-changing outcomes.

note: ICPW is not designed for those who do not have stability in their lives or are experiencing acute mental or emotional crises. People suffering from acute mental and emotional crises are advised to seek qualified healthcare professionals. You can read more here about the important differences between Jembae Holistic Spiritual Life Coaching and psychotherapy by clicking here.

What is Internal Cosmology?

At Jembae, we don’t take the word “cosmology” lightly. We have found each person truly has galaxies-worth of internal worlds. Jembae Holistic Spiritual Life Coaches are experienced cosmonauts who are here to guide you through your internal galaxies.

What are Parts?

Parts are the aspects of our personality that come together to make us who we are.

A part can be compromised of, or experienced as… Thoughts; words; phrases; voices; sounds; memories; emotions; images; references; beliefs; feelings; physical sensations; and more

Parts determine our… Behaviors, beliefs, and emotions. Some parts may get along with each other, while others may be in conflict.

How Does ICPW Work?

ICPW is a series of… Structured conversations; reflections; visualizations; grounding exercises; and light movement designed to help you access deeper parts so you can build relationships with them and heal the roots of the imbalances that burden you.

With parts work we begin to develop a deeper understanding of our entire being. Your Jembae Coach will guide you through these practices step-by-step and listen with absolute attention, reflecting back and guiding the flow.

ICPW is not an intellectual or theoretic exercise. The exercises are emotional and intuitive. ICPW is “feeling work,” not “thinking work” and accesses a much deeper part of our mind and heart than is possible with normal conversations, writing, etc.

Over years of dedicated practice, Jembae Coaches have developed superlative space-holding, prompting, and intuitive abilities. Your Jembae Coach's space-holding will enable your hidden parts to emerge and reveal the hidden energy, motivation, focus and clarity that has been within you all along.

Level 1 Awareness — Consider these everyday examples of common issues we may face:

“I have to go to work, but I don’t want to”

“I need to take better care of my health, but I can’t seem to get it together”

“I want to dance, but I feel too shy”

Level 2 Awareness — From a parts work perspective, we could rephrase these as:

“A part of me wants to go to work, but another part doesn’t”

“A part of me wants to take better care of my health, but another part blocks me”

“A part of me wants to dance, but another part feels shy”

In ICPW, we get to know our parts—who they are, their goals, needs, desires and more. By getting in touch with all aspects of ourselves we are able to acknowledge these parts’ unmet needs, provide them, and achieve Collaborative/Congruence.

Each person’s experience of their parts is unique and personal. Typically, parts correspond to different phases of our life, where we had different values, wants, needs, or circumstances.

These categories include… Inner child/infant, inner teen, young adult, critical parent, and higher self. It is also possible to have multiple inner children, teenagers, or any other part from a phase. In advanced ICPW, we may also discover spirits or ancestral parts.

Level 3 Awareness — To expand the previous examples, as we grow in our awareness of our parts, we begin to discern the voices behind the conflicts.

“My inner adult knows we need to go to work, but my inner teen feels frustrated and dislikes my job.”

“My inner teen loves dancing, but my inner child is afraid of being seen.”

“My inner teen really wants to visit my cousin, but my inner critical adult tells me I don’t deserve a break.”

Level 4 Awareness — Next, we are able to identify the wants, needs, beliefs and origins of our parts causing the conflict.

“My inner adult knows we need to go to work, but my inner teen feels frustrated and dislikes my job because they have no time for creative expression.”

“My inner teen loves dancing, but my inner child is afraid of being seen because they were shamed as a child for expressing himself.”

“My inner teen really wants to visit my cousin, but my inner critical adult tells me I don’t deserve a break because I learned from my family of origin that taking breaks is for weak and unsuccessful people.”

Level 5 Loving Action — Having identified the wants, needs, beliefs, and origins, we learn how to accept and nurture these parts, thereby resolving the conflict.

“My inner teen feels frustrated because they have no time for creative expression.”

→ "I nurture and witness my inner teen. I arrive at a compromise and provide the teen two hours per week of creative time."

→ My resistance to work evaporates.

“My inner child is afraid of being seen because they were shamed as a child for expressing themself.”

→ "I nurture and witness my inner child. I witness the shame he experienced and remind him/her/they that things are different now."

→ My core fear is reduced to a manageable level of shyness.

“My inner critical adult tells me I don’t deserve a break because I learned from my family of origin that taking breaks is for weak and unsuccessful people.”

→ "I nurture and witness my inner critical adult. I empathize with their misguided desire to help and protect. I remind them them that the messages we received growing up are out of date, and that taking a break is an important part of a healthy life.”

→ My resistance to taking breaks is significantly reduced.

What is Collaborative/Congruence (co/co)?

The goal of ICPW is to cultivate Collaborative/Congruence, otherwise known as co/co (pronounced "coco," as in coconut). Co/co refers to the internal state of internal ease, balance, and focus that permeates all aspects of our life.

When a client cultivates a high degree of co/co, they can finally spring into action, get in shape, build their life, find the balance, or achieve the goals they always desired. They are able to reach the great potential they always knew they were capable of. They are able to do so in a balanced way, without burnout. The internal resistance towards action or balance has fully evaporated.

Without co/co, when we experience an undesired outcome, it is confusing to discern whether the responsibility lies with us, our circumstances; whether the outcome is even resolveable, or is fait de vie we must accept.

However, when we cultivate co/co we receive the gift of clarity. Because we are fully in-touch with ourselves, we can discern our part in the undesired outcome. We can then adjust our behavior without resistance, continuing this process of constructive adjustment until we consistently achieve the results we desire. Getting external results becomes much easier—just a matter of time.

This article provides an overview of the distinctions between Jembae® Holistic Spiritual Life Coaching, psychotherapeutic treatment, and 12-Step sponsorship to help individuals make informed decisions about their personal growth and wellness journey.

What are Psychotherapists, Psychiatrists, and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners?

Psychotherapists

Psychotherapists are licensed healthcare professionals who complete extensive academic study and supervised clinical practice to obtain state licensure. Their primary scope of practice includes assessing, diagnosing, and treating mental health conditions using evidence-based therapeutic modalities and clinical interventions. Psychotherapists operate within regulated frameworks and maintain professional liability insurance, ethical standards, and legal obligations to their clients.

Psychiatrists, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners & Psychiatric Medications

Psychiatrists are medical doctors (MD or DO) specializing in mental health, while Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNPs) hold advanced nursing degrees with specialized psychiatric training. Both may prescribe psychotropic medications to manage symptoms of mental health conditions. The appropriateness of medication depends on individual assessment, diagnosis, and clinical judgment.

Who Should Consider Psychotherapeutic Treatment?

Psychotherapy is appropriate for individuals experiencing a wide range of mental health concerns, including but not limited to:

Crisis intervention: Acute situations such as substance withdrawal, suicidal ideation, psychosis, or severe depression requiring immediate clinical support

Common mental health conditions: Mild to moderate depression, anxiety disorders, or compulsive behaviors

Trauma processing: Clinical trauma work with licensed professionals trained in trauma-informed care

Goal-oriented therapy: Structured approaches to achieve specific behavioral or emotional outcomes

Spiritually-integrated therapy: Therapeutic approaches incorporating spiritual or religious perspectives when aligned with client values

Modern healthcare systems provide infrastructure and insurance coverage for mental health treatment across this spectrum.

What is the Difference Between Jembae® Holistic Spiritual Life Coaching and Psychotherapeutic Treatment?

Non-professional and peer-based

Self-supporting through voluntary contributions

Available for various concerns including substance use, gambling, eating disorders, codependency, and more

Sponsor & Sponsee Relationship

Sponsorship is an informal, non-professional, volunteer peer relationship. Sponsors are not trained professionals, counselors, or therapists. They are individuals with personal recovery experience who:

Have worked the 12 Steps themselves

Maintain ongoing abstinence from their particular dysfunction

Share their personal "experience, strength, and hope"

Guide sponsees through the 12-Step process

Sponsorship practices vary widely and are not standardized, regulated, or clinically supervised.

Who Should Consider a 12-Step Program?

12-Step programs may be appropriate for individuals who:

Recognize unmanageable patterns or addictive behaviors in their lives

Are willing to engage in a spiritual, community-based approach to recovery

Can commit to regular meeting attendance, daily spiritual practices, and service work

Seek peer support and shared experience

Important Note: 12-Step programs are peer support groups, not clinical treatment. They are not a substitute for professional mental health care, medical detoxification, or psychiatric treatment. Individuals in acute crisis should seek professional healthcare services.

What is the Difference Between Jembae® Holistic Spiritual Life Coaching and 12-Step Sponsorship?

While both may incorporate spirituality and personal growth, they differ significantly:

12-Step Sponsorship:

Peer-based, non-professional, and free

Focused on recovery from specific addictions or compulsions

Community-oriented with shared experience

Follows a structured 12-Step framework

Informal, unregulated relationship

Jembae® Holistic Spiritual Life Coaching:

Professional paid service

Goal-oriented and individualized

Addresses multiple life areas (career, creativity, wellness, finances, etc.)

Does not replace or replicate 12-Step work

Suitable for clients already in stable recovery or without active addiction issues

Jembae® Coaching does not replace 12-Step sponsorship for individuals actively working a program of recovery.

Conclusion

Jembae® Holistic Spiritual Life Coaching, psychotherapy, and 12-Step sponsorship serve different purposes and populations.
