Soul Kobra is a fresh, funky, and exciting new face in world dance music! Turkish-American singer-songwriter, dancer, multi-instrumentalist, and record producer, Soul Kobra is the progenitor of his self-titled funky genre – Maláma  – a danceable, charismatic blend of old & new schools of funk, afro-latin, hip-hop, and mediterranean styles. Lyrics seamlessly flow between five languages of tongue-in-cheek references and innuendo, and syncopated drums step alongside funky basslines, keeping hips shaking and smiles grinning across the continents.

Born and raised in Queens, New York, Soul Kobra grew up speaking Turkish, English and French. An avid dancer and fan of dance music, Kobra’s passion ignited as a young adult. Fluent in a plethora of instruments as well as 5 languages, Kobra’s completely self-produced, -composed, -arranged, and -performed debut album, “Maláma,” is an ambitious artistic statement and showcase of this rising artist’s talent and dedication to his music.
